Two-Ingredient Car Camping Queso: Three Ways
When it comes to camping, I’m the person who brings indulgent snacks. Everyone wants to give you a hard time when they first notice your snacks of choice, but you better believe those same people are asking you to “pass the Doritos,” after a few hours of camping. I’m also into simple camp cooking – the fewer ingredients, fewer pots, the better in my book.
One of my favorite camping (or let’s be real, anytime) snacks – camping queso – is both indulgent and easy. The following are three different types of queso you can make with just two ingredients each.
Car Camping Queso Recipe
Pick from the following options, heat, stir, enjoy with chips!
Old School Queso: 16 oz Velveeta+ 1 Can Original Ro-tel
Queso Blanco: Block of Cream Cheese + Jar of Salsa of Choice
Chili con Queso: Container Pub Cheese + Can of Canned Chili
Options/Notes for Car Camping Queso
- You can adjust the proportions to your liking. For example, if you want cheesier queso, don’t use the whole can of chili, can or Ro-tel, or jar of salsa.
- The Velveeta option does not require refrigeration so it’s he go-to if you won’t have a cooler.
- You can mix and match the cheeses and the bases as you see fit. For example, pub cheese and Ro-tel is a top combination for me.
- If you’re feeling fancy, add some avocados, or beans, or lay out the chips and make it a nacho platter with all your fav. toppings.
